About

Credibility Earned in Uniform —
and a RM1.2 Billion Track Record

There are sectors where access is not bought with a pitch deck — it is earned over decades, in uniform, inside the institutions that matter. Lt (R) Hajjah Suryati did not just serve in Malaysia's maritime and defence establishment. She built businesses inside it, ran the technology-transfer between global OEMs and Malaysian industry, and personally attracted RM1.2 billion in foreign investment into local companies.

Lt (R) Hajjah Suryati Yusoff is Mahat Advisory's Maritime & Defence Sectoral Partner. Commissioned as a Royal Malaysian Navy (TLDM) officer in December 1986 and a national-level sportswoman since her school days, she served ten years as a TLDM logistics officer before continuing through the PSC-NDSB Shipyard, where she was appointed Transfer-of-Technology Manager bringing German capability into Malaysia through the NGPV (New Generation Patrol Vessel) project.

In 2002 she founded an MRO marine engineering and security business that grew to 200 employees. When Boustead won the contract to build LCS ships for the Navy in 2010, she was again appointed the intermediary between the foreign OEMs and the Malaysian company for LCS transfer-of-technology content. As General Manager for Government & Business Liaison she successfully attracted RM1.2 billion in investment from German, Swiss and US companies into Malaysian firms. In 2019 she retired to lead disaster-management work for Yayasan Amal Malaysia, serving victims of earthquakes, tsunamis and natural disasters at local and international level.
